Myths on plant proteins in human nutrition.

As bioinformatician, I usually keep in touch with people from the scientific comunity which appear to be concerned about my hypothetical protein intake defficiency. This situation is kind of "weird" for me, this is a topic that is clear for the scientific community at least since early 90's, and on 2008 I am still asked for the same question!

Plant proteins are "incomplete"(ie lack specific aminoacids) Usual dietary combinations of proteins are complete : specific food proteins may be low in specific aminoacids.
Plant proteins are not as "good" as animal proteins. Quality depends on the source and dietary mixture of plant proteins: can be equivalent to high-quality animal proteins.
Plant proteins are not well digested Digestibility can vary according to source and food preparation: digestibility can be high.
Proteins from different plant foods must be consumed together in the same meal to achieve high nutritional value. Proteins do not need to be consumed at the same time, the balance over the day is of greater importance.
