What the #$!@&" is abolitionism?

find the answer here (in spanish) or here (in english)

Why another vegan blog?

hmmm... just because.

Why am I vegan?

1) I have a strong believe on animals having a fundamental right. The right not to be treated as property of someone else. 2) Animals are sentient beings, the status of property is for cars, watches or books, no for friends. 3) There's no moral, scientific or nutritional justification to deny nonhuman animals their natural right to live a natural and peaceful life.

How is it to be vegan in Bogota?

It is NOT difficult at all. Supermarkets are full of "unintentional" vegan food, including spaghetti, bread and cheese.
There are some myths about veganism as an "expensive and difficult way of life", that I have found to be so, myths. Most vegetarian restaurants are, in fact, vegan. Perhaps, the most difficult issue about being vegan is lunch at work, since there are not vegetarian restaurants near the National University, I have to cook my own food, which in some cases is time consuming.
As I think this topic deserves a deeper aproximation, I am preparing a "document" on How to be vegan in Bogota and I hope it will be ready in less than a week.

How this all got started?

Well, this is a long, long story, but I'll make it shorter. I went into vegetarianism when I was 14yo, two years later I became vegan for a year, then I went back to vegetarianism until I was 22 yo, when a personal "catarsis" made me quit vegetarianism. I had been veggie since I was 14, and all my compromise was tied to the HxC punk scene, I was, let's say, confused and tired.
For years, I tried to get into vegetarianism again but I failed. Finally, after a long process, a year ago veganism came to my life like a breeze. What can I say? I feel at home again!!! more than ever.
